Probablity

Probability is the likelihood of something happening. When someone tells you the probability of something happening, they are telling you how likely that something is.

Calculating Probability

To calculate probability, you need to know how many possible options or outcomes there are and how many right combinations you have

Example :

Throwing dice is more complicated than tossing coins, as there are more than 2 values. If you throw a single dice, then it can fall six ways, each of which is equally likely if the dice is true. So the probability of getting one particular value is 1/6. If you want either of two values it is 2/6 or 1/3, and so on.

Example: the chances of rolling a "4"

Number of ways it can happen: 1 (there is only 1 face with a "4" on it)
Total number of outcomes: 6 (there are 6 faces altogether)So the probability = 1/6

Tossing a Coin

When a coin is tossed, there are two possible outcomes:

  • Heads (H) or
  • Tails (T)
We say that the probability of the coin landing H is 1/2, and the probability of the coin landing T is also 1/2.

Here is another Example

QUESTION !
